Coherence Analysis applied on a Steady-State Visual Evoked Potentials (SSVEP) based Brain-Computer Interface (BCI)
This work presents a method implemented in a functional prototype for the control of a wheelchair using steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEP), which achieves better performance with a shorter time than observed in conventional BCIs, which means a considerable improvement for practical BCI systems, adding improvements based on observations of particular characteristics of EEG signals. The performance of the system was tested by implementing statistical methods such as cross-validation, qualitative and quantitative analysis of the system responses, based on collected datasets when subjects watched a stimulus on a screen.
