Hydroacoustic Complex for Studying the Condition of Underwater Engineering Communications of the Cable Network
There are numerous occasions where a cable network is laid along the bottom of a reservoir. It is essential to carry out an investigation for a bottom of reservoir prior to installing cable along its length. It is possible to explore the bottom of a reservoir in several ways: diving survey, photo-video filming and using sonar equipment. The use of sonar equipment has several advantages, including area survey and the ability to work in turbid water. It is also necessary to periodically examine the already laid cable to check for erosion, sagging, etc. defects. Such investigations are conducted not only to figure out the scope of accidents that occurred before, but also to prevent incidents. To perform this type of work on hydroacoustic survey of underwater utilities, multi-beam echo sounders or side-scan sonars paired with parametric pro filers are most applicable.
