Temperature Monitoring of Wind Turbines: Choosing the Optimal Method or Reliable Operation
The article discusses the problem of temperature control of components of wind turbine and conducts a comparative analysis of various methods of temperature measurement. The methods analyzed in the study are thermocouples, thermistors, infrared thermometers, and fiber optic sensors. Their accuracy, response speed, measurement range, reliability, cost-effectiveness, ease of installation, compatibility with existing systems and safety are assessed. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that each method has its own advantages and limitations, depending on the specific application. Thermocouples and thermistors have shown high accuracy and sensitivity, but require direct contact with the surface being measured. IR thermometers provide fast, non-contact measurements but can be affected by environmental influences. Fiber optic sensors exhibit high accuracy and immunity to electromagnetic interference, but their installation can be complex and expensive.
