Cover Feature: Cationic or Neutral: Dependence of Photophysical Properties of Bis‐Alkynylphosphonium Pt(II) Complexes on Ancillary Ligand (Chem. Eur. J. 58/2024)
Cationic phosphine alkynylphosphonium PtII complexes are more efficient emitters in the solid state than neutral cyanide ones. The former are also the first example of triplet solid-state emitters among phosphine-alkynyl PtII systems. However, they do not demonstrate any solution luminescence. Cyanide systems are hardly soluble, but can have dual emission in DMSO. Changing the ligand linker in both series allows fine-tuning of the emission wavelength.
