Glucose-Templated Porous PVDF-HFP Films as High-Performance Piezoelectric Nanogenerators for Charging Lithium Batteries

Piezoelectric nanogenerators based on poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and its copolymers are notable for their exceptional biocompatibility, flexibility, and ease of processing but do not have excellent piezoelectric performance. This study tactfully utilized eco-friendly glucose as both an auxiliary inducer and a pore-forming agent to fabricate high-performance porous PVDF-HFP piezoelectric films. The porous film with 25.9% porosity exhibited a piezoelectric coefficient of −65 pC/N and achieved a power density of 0.21 mW/cm3 under 35 N stress (3.7 times higher than that of its dense counterpart), showcasing substantial potential in energy harvesting and power supply for lithium batteries.
