Integrating Traditional Japanese Nishijin Weaving Techniques with Modern Electronics

This paper presents a novel approach to e-textile development by combining traditional Japanese Nishijin weaving techniques with modern circuit creation technology. We propose methods for creating e-textiles that maintain the high design quality of Nishijin textiles while incorporating advanced electrical functionality. Our approach leverages the conductive properties of metallic threads in Nishijin weaving and introduces a new circuit creation technique using stretchable conductive paste. We also explore potential applications of these e-textiles in IoT devices and sensing systems. This research aims to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology, potentially revitalizing Japan's textile industry and expanding the applications of e-textiles.
