Composite Antidisturbance Control for Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer System of Electric Vehicles With Multisource Uncertainties

This article investigates output voltage regulation for dynamic wireless power transfer system (DWPTS) in electric vehicles (EVs) with multisource uncertainties. Each EV commonly faces the drawback of low energy reserves and slow charging rates. The advent of wireless power transfer techniques holds the potential to alleviate EV range anxiety. The article presents a DWPTS employing a composite antidisturbance control (CADC) strategy to ensure reliable and continuous power delivery to EVs. Specifically, we construct a lumped disturbance model and introduce an extended state observer (ESO) to recover uncertainties in the DWPTS. By integrating feedforward compensation and nonsmooth suppression strategy, a CADC law is formulated to produce the targeted control signal required for charging circuit. Subsequently, the Lyapunov stability criterion is employed to demonstrate that all state errors remain bounded. Finally, we establish a DWPTS test platform to substantiate the efficacy of the designed CADC structure. Quantitative results indicate that the proposed controller achieves a balance between high control performance and reduced control signal chattering. Specifically, it leads to faster step response (<inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 18\; \text{ms}$</tex-math></inline-formula>), less chattering in the control signal (<inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 0.055$</tex-math></inline-formula>), and superior suppression of output voltage fluctuation (<inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 1.717\;\mathrm{V}$</tex-math></inline-formula>) in DWPTS compared to conventional PID controllers (with corresponding values of <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 51\; \text{ms}$</tex-math></inline-formula>, <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 0.008$</tex-math></inline-formula>, <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 10.145\;\mathrm{V}$</tex-math></inline-formula>), active disturbance rejection controllers (ADRC) (<inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 26\; \text{ms}$</tex-math></inline-formula>, <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 0.025$</tex-math></inline-formula>, <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 4.414\;\mathrm{V}$</tex-math></inline-formula>), and nonsmooth controllers (<inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 18\; \text{ms}$</tex-math></inline-formula>, <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 1$</tex-math></inline-formula>, <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$ 5.061\;\mathrm{V}$</tex-math></inline-formula>).
