Study Of Vibration In Amorphous Transformers With Different Shapes And Core Structures

Magnetostrictive force is the main cause of transformer vibration and noise. Particularly, the magnetostrictive force in steel core of amorphous transformers is higher than that silicon steel core. To comprehensively evaluate overall about the vibration of amorphous steel cores based on their structures and shapes, the author has built a mathematical model in a mix electro-mechanical system and surveyed displacement and vibration of various core structures (3-phase 3-limbs core, 3-phase 5-limbs core, and hexagonal core). Results for distribution transformers (capacity 250kVA, voltage $22 \mathrm{kV} / 0.4 \mathrm{kV}$) have determined that the 3 -phase 5 -limbs core has the smallest displacement and vibration compared to the 3 -phase 3 -limbs core structures and hexagonal core. This serves as the basis for selecting and perfecting the technology for manufacturing amorphous transformers.
