Green Innovation: Strategies for Commercializing Environmental Technologies and Solutions

The commercialization of environmental technologies and solutions is crucial for addressing global sustainability challenges. However, the process of scaling up green innovations faces various barriers, including technological, market, and institutional factors. This study investigates effective strategies for accelerating the commercialization of environmental technologies and solutions. Drawing on a comprehensive review of 20 relevant research articles, the paper identifies key enablers and best practices across the innovation value chain, from research and development to market deployment. The findings highlight the importance of fostering collaborative ecosystems that bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers. Strengthening university-industry linkages, improving access to early-stage financing, and implementing supportive regulatory frameworks are shown to be critical success factors. The study also emphasizes the need for tailored commercialization pathways that account for the unique characteristics of different green technologies and local market conditions. The insights from this research are highly relevant for the Vietnamese context, where the government has prioritized the development of a green economy and the commercialization of environmental innovations. Leveraging the expertise and resources of organizations like the Vietnam Initiative for Green Innovation Commercialization (VIGIC) and the LIFVietnam network can help accelerate the translation of research findings into successful commercial ventures. By adopting the strategies outlined in this study, Vietnamese scientists, entrepreneurs, and policymakers can contribute to the scaling up of green innovations and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
