Effect Of Nano Aluminum Oxide On The Properties Of Mortars Produced From Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Activated By CaO Combining With Seawater And Sea Sand

This paper describes the contribution of using Nano Al2O3 to improve some technical properties of mortar produced from ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) activated by CaO using sea sand and seawater. With a water-tobinder ratio (w/b) of 0.6, five mortar mixes were made, one of which was a control mix that did not include Nano Al2O3, 4 mixes using Nano Al2O3 content of 1, 2, 3, 5% of binder mass. Research results show that increasing the Nano Al 2 O 3 content reduces the fluidity of mortar. At 28 days of age, incoporating 2% Nano Al 2 O 3 resulted in the highest compressive strength, flexural tensile strength, and ultrasonic velocity pulse (UPV). The electrical surface resistivity (ESR) decreased as the ratio of Nano Al2O3 increased at different ages.
