Activating the role of sports institutions in solidarity with the Palestinian cause: An analytical study

This study talks about the role of international sports institutions in solidarity with the Palestinian cause from an academic and scientific perspective, and the importance of establishing an institutional system that organizes, coordinates and advances these efforts so that they are more useful and effective. The study focused on the field of work of youth sports institutions and clubs within the framework of solidarity with Jerusalem and Palestine, which is in a state of weakness. The study was subjected to qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as interviews in Lebanon, Turkey, Tunisia, and Qatar. The results proved that there is solidarity with the Palestinian cause, but it is still scattered and does not reach the stage of an institution. Therefore, practical recommendations were made to establish an international sports institution. The study concluded by developing a number of recommendations, most important of which is the continuity of maintaining equality between the ages of the participants, especially between the younger. Veteran to exchange experiences and maintain the work of the coalition, and ensure its continuity, in addition to emphasizing the importance of strengthening the role of women and children, and focusing on establishing partnerships and opening branches of the coalition in various regions, as well as holding solidarity sports activities, and cooperating with players boycotting the occupation, by supporting them by all means. Possible, and highlighting their pioneering role in the media, as well as naming clubs and holding activities that preserve the Palestinian national heritage. The study called for paying attention to the economic reality of the clubs and workers within the coalition, and relying on volunteer work to address financial obstacles, while motivating the participants and providing them with the required expertise, and then transforming them into effective workers, through intensive courses in management, and holding events that bring material and moral returns to the coalition. الملخص هذه الدراسة تتحدث عن دور المؤسسات الرياضية الدولية في التضامن مع القضية الفلسطينية من الناحية الأكاديمية والعلمية، وأهمية وضْع منْظومة مُؤسَّسيّة تَنْظُم هذه الجُهود وتنسّق بيْنها وترْتقي بها حتَّى تكون ذات جدْوى وفاعليّة أكْثر. تمحورت الدراسة حول مجال عمل المؤسسات والأندية الشبابية الرياضية في إطار التضامن مع القدس وفلسطين، التي تعيش حالة ضعف. وخضعت الدراسة للتحليل النوعي والكمي، فضلاً عن المقابلات في لبنان وتركيا وتونس وقطر. وأثبتت النتائج أنه يوجد تضامن مع القضية الفلسطينية، لكن ما زال مبعثراً لا يصل إلى مرحلة المؤسسة، لذلك جرى ضع توصيات عملية لإنشاء مؤسسة رياضية دولية وخلصت الدراسة إلى وضع جملة توصيات، وعلى رأسها استمرارية الحفاظ على التساوي بين أعمار المشاركين، خاصة بين جيل الشباب والجيل المخضرم لتبادل الخبرات والحفاظ على عمل الائتلاف، وضمان استمراريته، فضلاً عن التأكيد على أهمية تعزيز دور المرأة والأطفال، والتركيز على عقد شراكات وفتح فروع للائتلاف في مختلف المناطق، فضلاً عن إقامة النشاطات التضامنية الرياضية، والتعاون مع اللاعبين المقاطعين للاحتلال، من خلال دعمهم بكل الوسائل الممكنة، وتسليط الضوء الإعلامي على دورهم الريادي، فضلاً عن تسمية الأندية وإقامة النشاطات التي تحفظ التراث الوطني الفلسطيني. دعت الدراسة إلى الاهتمام بالواقع الاقتصادي للأندية والعاملين ضمن الائتلاف، والاعتماد على العمل التطوعي لمعالجة العوائق المادية، مع تحفيز المشاركين ودعهم بالخبرات المطلوبة، ومن ثم تحويلهم إلى عاملين فاعلين، وذلك عبر الدورات المكثفة في الإدارة، وإقامة الفعاليات التي تعود بالمردود المادي والمعنوي على الائتلاف.
