Comparison of Methods for Modeling Phase Dynamics Using the Models of Different Orders
Analyzing the intensity and directionality of couplings between different systems is a very complex and important task in studying the functioning of physiological systems. To carry out such a study, the phase dynamics modeling method can be used. We propose to simplify the structure of the phase dynamics model in order to reduce time for calculating estimates of coupling intensity. It is shown that the proposed changes made it possible to reduce the time for calculating the coupling estimates by 2.97 times, while coupling intensity obtained by the two methods differ by less than 1 percent. The changes in the phase dynamics modeling method proposed in this paper will make it easier to work with long time series.
