Neuropunk revolution: energy consumption aspects of modern AI

In this paper, we present the comparison of modern ANNs and SNNs indicating several orders of magnitude differences. As well as optimisation approaches for the SNNs starting from bio-plausible models implemented as SNNs till memristive schematics still implementing neurobiological phenomena.
