Metal-free visible-light-induced borylative/silylative pyridylation of vinylarenes

We present a metal-free and mild three-component reaction involving vinylarenes, NHC–BH 3 complexes, hydrosilanes, and 4-cyanopyridine. Remarkably, this reaction was performed with simple and inexpensive benzophenone.
