A IMPORTÂNCIA DO DIAGNÓSTICO PRECOCE DO BRUXISMO DO SONO INFANTIL
This study addresses the importance of early diagnosis of pediatric sleep bruxism, a condition characterized by the involuntary grinding or clenching of teeth, which can occur during sleep or while awake. The objective of the study is to highlight the relevance of early detection of this dysfunction to prevent damage to the stomatognathic system and improve the quality of life of affected children. The methodology adopted was an integrative literature review, involving the search for scientific articles in the SCIELO, PUBMED, and LILACS databases, focusing on studies published between 2015 and 2024. The study selected articles focusing on risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric bruxism. The results indicate that early diagnosis, combined with a multidisciplinary approach, is essential to mitigate the effects of the condition, such as dental wear and temporomandibular joint dysfunctions. Furthermore, effective treatment involves a combination of dental, psychological, and behavioral interventions.
