Factors Influencing the Continued Usage Intention of Elderly Users in Community-Centered Aging-Friendly Product Design
To investigate the influence of experiential value and user satisfaction on the design of community-centered aging-friendly public products and users' intention to continue using them, this study focused on elderly community users. Using a structural equation model from an empirical perspective, experiential value and user satisfaction were treated as mediating variables, and user experience as a moderating variable. The results indicate: (1) Aesthetic design positively influences experiential value and user satisfaction but does not have a direct relationship with the intention of elderly users to continue using the products. Functional design positively influences experiential value, user satisfaction, and the intention of elderly users to continue using the products. Symbolic design positively influences the intention of elderly users to continue using the products but has no direct relationship with experiential value and user satisfaction. (2) Experiential value and user satisfaction fully mediate the relationship between aesthetic design and the intention of users to continue using the products. Experiential value and user satisfaction partially mediate the relationship between functional design and the intention of users to continue using the products. (3) User experience moderates the relationship between the design of community-centered aging-friendly public products and experiential value, as well as the intention of users to continue using the products. Based on these findings, relevant recommendations are provided to offer theoretical foundations and decision-making guidance for the design of community-centered aging-friendly products.
