FUNDAMENTAL STUDY ON ESTIMATING THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF BRICK BUILDINGS USING A SMALL-DIAMETER DRILLING TESTER
In recent years, the use and preservation of historic brick buildings have attracted attention. However, little technical data exists regarding the material properties of brick buildings, and a method of estimating the corresponding compressive strength for seismic evaluation has not been established. Therefore, technical data was collected in this work to develop a method for estimating the compressive strength of brick buildings. Drilling tests were conducted, and the results confirmed the feasibility of estimating the compressive strength of bricks and joint mortar.
