Modernization of an Electron-Optical System with a Ring Cathode in a TWT with Low Voltage Control
The results of the modernization of an electronoptical system (EOS) with a ring cathode in an electron gun and a magnetic periodic focusing system (MPFS) from the third spatial harmonic of the magnetic field are presented. The configuration of electron gun electrodes with low-voltage gridless control of the beam current, which forms an electron flow with a small spread of transverse components of electron velocities, as well as the distribution of the magnetic field in the MPPS with the third spatial harmonic, ensured the transportation of the electron flow in an extended flight channel with a high level of current flow in the operating mode.
