Specifics of Operation and Maintenance of Microwave Defrosters in Russia

The paper shows the current state of development of microwave food defrosting in Russia. The market analysis of microwave defrosting equipment is carried out and the current directions of its development after 2022 are described. Numerous studies of the tunnel multi-section microwave defrosters condition have been carried out. The main problems arising during the operation and maintenance of microwave defrosters are identified. It is shown that domestic manufacturers can successfully replace imported main components of foreign microwave defrosting equipment. The results of the successful replacement of imported high-power industrial magnetrons with microwave power up to 75 kW at a frequency of 915 MHz with a similar device M-177 manufactured by JSC ‘NPP ‘Magratep’ are presented. A solution to the problem of temporary degradation of ferrite circulators has been proposed to extend the service life of magnetrons.
