Mpox – Clado 1B: Uma revisão e avanços do novo alerta global de saúde pública

Scientific interest in mpox has grown significantly in recent decades, especially due to the increase in the incidence of human cases and the potential threat that the virus poses to global public health. This article aims to increase access to information about this disease in Portuguese, since most information is still published in a foreign languages, and the behavior of the Clade 1B mutation in affecting the immune system and representing a first-degree threat to carriers of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The data is recent, and so is the global alert issued by the World Health Organization. It is necessary to democratize access to scientific information about a possible second global pandemic in the making.
