Orale lichenoide kontaktlesjoner – en oversikt

English summary Oral lichenoid contact lesions – an overview Nor Tannlegeforen Tid. 2024; 134: 830-7. Oral lichenoid contact lesions are relatively uncommon but can cause significant pain and morbidity. They are thought to be caused by a localized hypersensitivity reaction to dental restorative materials, mainly mercury released from amalgam. This overview aims to give an insight into the etiopathogenesis and clinical and histological features of oral lichenoid contact lesions, as well as suggest an approach to differential diagnosis. Management strategies and prognosis are summarized. Further, this review addresses the controversial issue of malignant potential of oral lichenoid contact lesions, and the need for patient follow-up and collaboration with specialized health care professionals.
