Effect of grain boundary character distribution on precipitation behavior and corrosion resistance of Al0.3CoCrFeNi1.5 high entropy alloy
Effect of grain boundary character distribution (GBCD) optimization on precipitation behavior and corrosion resistance in Al 0.3 CoCrFeNi 1.5 high entropy alloy (HEA) was investigated. The experimental results showed that the precipitation of B2 phases decreased the corrosion resistance of Al 0.3 CoCrFeNi 1.5 HEA in 0.5 M H 2 SO 4 solution, and the B2 phase preferred precipitating along random grain boundaries rather than twin boundaries (TBs). The inhibition of B2 precipitation along GBs has been achieved via optimizing GBCD, which resulted in a significant increase in E corr from −0.90 V to −0.68 V and manifested the improvement of corrosion resistance of Al 0.3 CoCrFeNi 1.5 HEA.
