An Empirical Study on the Management Performance of the 3rd International Education Quality Assurance System

This study analyzed the impact of the implementation of the 3rd term educational internationalization competency certification system on management performance (language competency satisfaction rate, dropout rate). For this purpose, a panel analysis was conducted targeting 132 domestic 4-year universities using the analysis period from 2016 to 2022. As a result of the analysis, it was found that both the language proficiency satisfaction rate and the dropout rate increased after the implementation of the 3rd education internationalization competency certification system. And this is believed to be the result of the strengthening of language skills to improve the quality management of international students in the 3rd Education Internationalization Competency Certification System and the strengthening of standards to prevent indiscriminate attraction of foreign students. In addition, in the relationship between the language proficiency satisfaction rate and the dropout rate, an increase in the language proficiency satisfaction rate appears to decrease the dropout rate. In the long run, the level of language proficiency strengthened through the Education Internationalization Competency Certification System will act as a good mechanism that can lead to a decrease in the dropout rate.
