Study on a Multi-Control System for Gyeongbu Stage 2 MJ-81 Electric Point Machines
The hydraulic point machine (Hydrostar from vaSIG Austria) is a device which changes the course of a track using a hydraulic motor. It is currently installed on the Gyeongbu high-speed railway phase 2 section, and has been causing challenges due to frequent failures and maintenance work from the time of initial installation, with damage and aging in progress due to vibration. Thus, this study investigates the feasibility of replacing the hydraulic point machine (Hydrostar) with an electric point machine (MJ-81, from Cogifer France) currently used in the Gyeongbu high-speed railway phase 1 section, to present a method for the development of a multi-control system for the MJ-81 point machine so that the electric point machine may be applied to the Gyeongbu high-speed railway phase 2 section.
