The paper proposes an approach to modeling the behavior of an applicant using Markov chains, and provides some interpretations. The Markov chain is widely used for modeling and analyzing stochastic systems in various fields of science and technology. The results of the study can be useful for the university administration, career consultants when planning career guidance activities.
