Subtracting to Add: Assessing Teaching Activities in Consideration of Student Outcomes
Abstract: Human nature predisposes us to solve problems by adding elements, even when the simplest or most efficient solution would involve subtracting elements. In this article, evidence is explored in order to investigate how deeply rooted this tendency is in the human condition and how it may pose challenges for singing teachers trying to help their students solve vocal problems.
