CONDITION AND THE PROBLEMS OF HORTICULTURE IN ARID, POORLY FERTILE STEPPE CONDITIONS OF YENISEI SIBERIA
In the Khakass-Minusinsk basin of Eastern Siberia, agricultural crops are grown under extreme soil and climatic conditions of low-snow arid steppes. Therefore, for garden plants, increasing the level of adaptability is an urgent and difficult task. In addition to the unfavorable factors of the growing season, they have to withstand harsh winter conditions every year. As a result of the introduction and own breeding work, generalization of the experience of amateur gardeners, a regional assortment of the main fruit and berry breeds has been formed from varieties and hybrids that realize their potential to a greater extent in the conditions of the Minusinsk steppe.
