INFLUENCE OF THE DIRECTION OF USE OF FALLOW LANDS ON SOIL FERTILITY IN THE SIBERIAN REGION

The results of the long-term monitoring of vegetation and soil properties show that the forest settled on fallow lands does not have a degrading effect on the gray soils of fallow lands. Alkaline chernozems, meadow-chernozems and dark-colored floodplain areas of fallow lands are objects of study regarding the stability of soil fertility. The introduction of fallow land into use and increasing the duration of use usually decreases the potential fertility indicators and slightly increases the effective fertility.

Abstract

The results of the long-term monitoring of vegetation and soil properties show that the forest settled on fallow lands does not have a degrading effect on the gray soils of fallow lands. Alkaline chernozems, meadow-chernozems and dark-colored floodplain areas of fallow lands are objects of study regarding the stability of soil fertility. The introduction of fallow land into use and increasing the duration of use usually decreases the potential fertility indicators and slightly increases the effective fertility.
