THE HISTORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIRGIN LANDS AND MODERN PROBLEMS IN AGRICULTURE IN SIBERIA

A brief historical digression into the epic of the development of virgin lands in Siberia is given. 70 years after the start of this large-scale work, its long-term positive results in agronomic, economic and social terms are obvious. The mistakes made, which also have long-term environmental consequences, were more clearly identified. Decades of scientific and practical research have made it possible to form an agriculture system for various soil and climatic conditions, which is a platform for improvement.
