VIRGIN LANDS AND THE STATE FARM WORKERS IN THE KULUNDA STEPPE OF ALTAI
the virgin lands epic in the Kulunda steppe had a characteristic handwriting for the development of new lands. Young people from all over the country came to explore the virgin lands. In total, envoys from forty territories and regions of all republics of the Soviet Union came to Altai. The technological policy of development was based on total plowing of the land, regardless of soil, environmental and other conditions. In the first years of continuous development, traditional dump plowing was used, which caused the manifestation of pronounced soil deflation. Over time, soil-protective waste-free technologies of basic processing began to be used. In the end, the goal of getting "big" bread was achieved. The main part of the virgin lands left the Altai land, some remained and Kulunda became their Homeland. Over time, steppe biocenoses, in certain areas, returned to their natural state.
