APPROACHES TO PREVENT AN ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER IN THE 60`S IN THE EAST OF THE COUNTRY

Generalized materials and analysis of approaches to prevent environmental disaster in the second half of the 20th century, during the development of virgin and fallow lands, as well as during the period of changing socio-economic formations, difficult socio-economic conditions for the development of agricultural production and at the beginning of the 21st century are presented. In 1954-1960, European technology was used for plowing virgin lands using plows, huskers and other tillage tools. The lack of its own way of developing and using new lands has led to an outbreak of wind erosion of soils over large areas, including the East of the country. The problem of degradation prevention and desertification of steppe agricultural landscapes in the 60s was acutely faced by science in the form of a state task "Soil protection from erosion". A great contribution to the study of factors of erosion processes, systematics of transplanted soils, protective afforestation and fertilizers in the 60s was made by scientists of the Institute of Forest and Timber of the SB Academy of Sciences of the USSR under the leadership of N. V. Orlovsky. The Scientific Research Institute of Agrarian Problems of Khakassia, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Federal Research Center Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, has developed soil-protective agriculture with strip placement of crops.
