Calculation method of carbon emission in the whole process of electrothermal coupling network

With the advancement of multi heterogeneous energy systems, the coupling of electrothermal networks has become increasingly intricate and closely interconnected. Electric energy and thermal energy, as prominent secondary energy sources, predominantly contribute to carbon emissions during the production phase, while emissions are essentially absent during transmission and energy consumption. Thus, it is crucial to establish a method for quantifying the carbon emissions in the energy flow link of the electrothermal coupling network and defining the carbon emission responsibility among the source, grid, and load. This measure serves as a significant catalyst for advocating for the low-carbon advancement of multi-heterogeneous energy systems. To overcome the limitations of existing macro statistical methods and life cycle approaches regarding carbon emissions, a novel calculation method is proposed based on the theory of electric heating energy flow and carbon emission flow. This method enables effective tracking and computation of carbon emissions throughout the entire process of the electric heating coupling network, encompassing the source side, grid side, and load side. Subsequently, a 26 node case analysis is conducted to validate the effectiveness of this proposed method.
