Wireless Wearable Real-Time Monitoring System for Home Health Surveillance
Plantar pressure monitoring products are currently widely used in rehabilitation care, real-time monitoring, and pathological analysis. This study aims to develop a wireless, real-time and wearable plantar pressure monitoring system to provide flexibility and applicability for specific personal healthcare, e.g. diabetic foot patients. The system consists of a force-measuring insole, a microcontroller and a Host Computer. The adaption of WI-FI chip ensures wide coverage area suitable home scenarios, considering the requirements for comfort and convenience of home health care. The experimental results of static and dynamic tests demonstrate that the system achieves accurate pressure acquisition and real-time pressure mapping. Furthermore, the feasibility of directly recognizing the human body's motion status through changes in pressure distribution is verified through human motion demonstrations. Consequently, the development of this wearable wireless system provides solid hardware support for further motion pattern recognition and pathological state monitoring.
