The books of the Old Testament as sacred literature of the Christian Church
This article is devoted to the analysis of the question of the validity of the non-recognition of the books of the Old Testament as sacred literature in Christianity. There is an opinion that for Christian communities, only those that are included in the New Testament are sacred books. Despite the fact that this issue was considered in early Christianity and discussed in detail at Councils in the second half of the fourth century, there is still a periodic need to substantiate the inspiration of the books of the Old Testament. The article concludes that the Old Testament should be accepted as the sacred literature of Christians. At the same time, it is noted that in modern Christianity, the position that confirms the sanctity of the books of the Old Testament prevails. This article is also intended to contribute to the defense of the Old Testament as Christian literature.
