Decentralized Multimedia Caching and Retrieval in Vehicular Networks

The rise of autonomous and connected vehicles in today’s transportation systems has highlighted the importance of exchanging multimedia data efficiently and securely. Traditional centralized methods of storing and accessing multimedia data in vehicle networks face issues related to delays, reliability, and scalability. These challenges include managing large amounts of data and ensuring fast access for real-time decisions. This research proposes a solution by designing and evaluating a decentralized system that uses blockchain technology as decentralized systems for secure and efficient multimedia management in connected vehicles. The results show significant improvements over centralized systems, demonstrating that decentralized multimedia caching can enhance data integrity, reduce delays, and ensure secure content access. The paper also discusses the research implications, focusing on potential areas for future improvement. This work aims to contribute to the development of multimedia networks and communications, providing a promising solution for multimedia storage and access in the dynamic world of connected vehicles.
