Enabling Cloud-based Data Analysis for Analog Metal Detectors using Microcomputer Systems
This paper details a cost-efficient enhancement of a traditional analog metal detector through digital technology, employing a Raspberry Pi Zero W and a Waveshare High-Precision AD/DA Board to digitize detection signals. The system processes these signals and pairs them with GPS data from a Pixhawk 6C flight controller, facilitating the creation of a metal detection data processing. Real-time data transmission to a cloud-hosted MySQL database enables real-time data analysis. Utilizing cost-effective components and open-source software, the implementation improves metal detection capabilities and supports applications such as archaeological surveys and environmental studies. Preliminary results demonstrate the system’s effectiveness in leveraging cloud technology to enhance metal detection insights. Future enhancements will focus on refining data analysis techniques and broadening the system’s sensory applications.
