Workplace Changes in the Bulgarian Translation Industry in Conditions of Digitalisation of Labour

The translation industry is influenced by digitalisation and the entry of artificial intelligence into the work. The subject of the article is the digitalisation-induced change in the workplaces in the translation industry and the role of workplace innovations to achieve efficiency, effectiveness and quality of work. Based on an empirical study among Bulgarian translation agencies, a classification of the workplaces in conditions of digitalisation was made: new workplaces are created at the border between translation and IT business; jobs with new skills; new work positions imposed by other trends, traditional workplaces. The article discusses the challenges to different kind of workplaces and the role of workplace innovation to achieve efficiency and better quality of work.
