Human voice absorbing system by the use of aeroacoustics metamaterials
The increase of calls meetings has intensified vocal noise pollution, particularly in open spaces and during transportation. This poses challenges not only for speakers seeking confidentiality but also for disturbed neighbours. Both workplace and transportation environments suffer from the disruptive nature of vocal noise, with direct implications for cognitive performance in office settings. To answer to that problem, Skyted propose an innovative acoustic mask designed to reduce voice noise by up to 35 dB at a distance of 1 meter. This technology comes from meta-materials initially developed at ONERA for aircraft engine applications. Adapted and modeled for human vocal use, Skyted's mask ensures optimal comfort, breathability, and bidirectional attenuation. The numerical models based on FEM, and analytical (Matrix Transfert based on) are compared to measurements made for those specific application.
