Exploiting Next-Generation Signals From Galileo in a Real Time Receiver

User experience for GNSS applications is dominated by the perceived time-to-first-time and time-to-first-fix (TTFF). While new trends in hardware and algorithms have reduced typical acquisition times, IoT devices with low power requirements still show noticeable delays and degraded detection capabilities, even when assisted. This problematic is amplified in urban environments, where multipath and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) effects have a major impact in the detection and false alarm probability trade-off, requiring longer integration times to succeed. Finally, time and fix resolution in unaided devices takes longer time, because of the need for navigation data demodulation.
