Adaptive Notch Filter Based Interference Characterization and Mitigation for GNSS Receivers
Periodic interference in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals can be effectively suppressed using frequency domain excision, whereas instantaneous frequency-based methods achieve good performance for nonperiodic frequency modulated interference. In this study, we develop a novel interference suppression method that detects and characterizes these two types of interference. Once the interference type has been identified, the corresponding mitigation method is employed. To improve the mitigation performance against non-stationary chirp attacks, a modified adaptive notch filter-based instantaneous frequency estimation and interference mitigation method is developed. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach outperforms both frequency domain and conventional adaptive notch filter-based interference mitigation methods.
