BIO Tech: Integrating BIO in New Media Art
As humanity explores the life sciences, art, and evolving technology, new media artists are extending beyond traditional mediums to integrate scientific diversity into their work, seeking to inject new vitality and depth. This paper examines biotechnology"s role as a transformative medium in new media art, offering novel artistic perspectives and tools, and prompting a re-evaluation of creative processes. By combining biological principles with artistic practices, artists innovate traditional media and explore methods grounded in scientific theories. This approach fulfills artists’ desires for novelty and steers art in a new direction, deepening public engagement with bioethics and the human-nature relationship. Ultimately, the integration of biotechnology and new media art drives innovation in artistic expression, enriches dialogue between the life sciences and art, and anticipates enhanced collaboration between artists and scientists, thus broadening artistic exploration’s scope and cultural impact.
