Development and Validation of UV-Spectrophotometric Method for The Estimation of Felbinac In Marketed Formulation and Cubosomal Nano Formulation.

Felbinac is the most widely preferred anti-inflammatory drug of choice and belongs to the Cox-2 inhibitor. The present study aims to develop and validate the UV-Spectrophotometric method for the estimation of Felbinac.Further, the developed UV Method was applied in the estimation of Felbinac in Marketed formulation (Traxam) and cubosomal nanoformulation. The study was performed as per ICH Guidelines and the developed UV method was validated for different parameters such as Specificity, Selectivity, Linearity, Precision (Interday, Intraday, Robustness, Ruggedness, LOD, and LOQ), and Stability study.Felbinac Showed linear response between the concentration range of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10g/mL with an r2 value of 0.999.All the validation reports of Precision, robustness, and ruggedness were found to be within the acceptance limit. The cubosome nanoformulation of felbinac was prepared by a top-down technique using PF-127 polymer and GMO as a lipid.Cubosome nanoformulation was characterized for Particle size, Entrapment efficiency, and PDI, which were found to be 298.8nm, 81.02%, and 0.29 respectively.Drug content assay for marketed gel formulation and Cubosome showed 74.15% and 82.61% Felbinac drug content respectively. The developed UV Spectroscopic method was found to be easy, accurate, sensitive, and precise for the estimation of Felbinac in Marketed formulation and cubosomal nanoformulation.
