A Spectral Integral Method for Nonsmooth PEC Bodies of Revolution

To solve the electromagnetic scattering problems for nonsmooth bodies of revolution (BoRs), a new spectral integral method (BoR-SIM) is proposed. It is applicable to both smooth and nonsmooth objects. In the generatrix direction, the local mixed-order Gauss–Lobatto–Legendre polynomials are adopted as the basis functions. The spectral accuracy can be achieved since high-order basis functions are employed, and it is appropriate for nonsmooth objects, such as the ones with sharp structures, since the basis functions are local. Numerical results demonstrate the high accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
