Application of the workplace noise regulations in ­practice using the example of the office „Musik wird oft nicht schön gefunden, weil sie stets mit Geräusch verbunden“, as Wilhelm Busch wrote over 100 years ago. And as with music, opinions differ on many other sounds too. This is often referred to as “noise”, although this does not always have to be damaging to hearing. Noise can also have physiological, psychological and social effects on people. These cases are referred to as extraaural noise effects. People at work must also be protected from these noise effects.
