Analysis of SK Hynix's HBM Competitiveness and Future Strategies
HBMs with higher performance and efficiency than current memory chips are in focus when AI comes. Due to the rapid increase in AI accelerator demand, semiconductor companies' interest in HBM is rising. Thanks to its yield, technology, material supply chain, and Nvidia partnership, SK Hynix remains number one in this industry. SK Hynix, which has failed to reverse the memory semiconductor business, is now writing a new history. Samsung Electronics, the second-largest company, is about a year behind SK. As always, competitors are trying to increase R&D spending, production capacity, and market share. This study examines SK Hynix's plan to maintain its No. 1 position in a constantly changing industry environment and how Samsung Electronics and Micron are attempting to overtake it. By thoroughly examining each competitor and the market environment, this paper provides short-term and mid- to long-term plans to help SK Hynix strengthen its market leadership.
