Study of the Immune And Inflammatory Biomarkers Associated With Dehydration In Children
Background: The current study investigated the relationship between dehydration and its causes, as well as the influence on inflammatory cytokines. Method: 125 samples were collected from children with dehydration due to diarrhea. 95 samples were collected from healthy children. All samples were obtained from the Maternity and Children's Hospital in Diwaniyah city from February to July 2023. Result: Children with dehydration from diarrhea and other causes showed increased levels of inflammatory cytokines and immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, IgM). This indicates a relationship between dehydration and inflammatory cytokines. Conclusion: The study found a connection between dehydration and elevated inflammatory cytokines in children with diarrhea-induced dehydration.
