Ultrahigh-performance NiWO4 nanoparticles anchored ZnO nanoflakes as a potential electrode for energy storage applications

• NiWO 4 /ZnO/CuF nanocomposite was synthesized on Cu foam via electrodeposition . • The max specific capacitance 547.2F g −1 was obtained for SC with NiWO 4 /ZnO/CuF. • A capacitance retention of 89.17 % after 5000 cycles for NiWO 4 /ZnO/CuF was obtained. The development and implementation of innovative conductive nanocomposite electrode material for the energy storage field are swiftly advancing. Herein, we fabricate a conductive homogeneous dispersed nano-flake-like NiWO 4 /ZnO/CuF composite onto 3D copper foam (CuF) through electrodeposition . FESEM, HRTEM, XRD, XPS, and FT-IR analysis were operated to study the physicochemical features and the surface morphology of NiWO 4 /ZnO/CuF electrode material. The electrochemical results provide the outstanding supercapacitor behavior of the synthesized electrode: delivering a maximum energy density of 19 Wh kg −1 and specific capacitance 547.2F g −1 , and superior cycling stability (89.17 % of capacitance conservation after 5000 cycles). Which was owing to the synergistic contributions of elemental composition and highly conductive networks of the obtained NiWO 4 /ZnO/CuF supercapacitor. According to the results, enhancement of the capacitive properties and stability was attributed to the efficient decoration of nanoparticles on the large surface area nanoflakes, and highlighting their potential applications in supercapacitor systems.
