Public Awareness of the Symptoms and Risk Factors of Thyroid Disease in Saudi Arabia

Nearly half of the participants had low knowledge scores regarding the risk factors and clinical manifestations of thyroid diseases. Although a sizable proportion of participants demonstrated awareness of some clinical presentations and prevention methods, there are serious knowledge gaps regarding the risk factors and symptoms of thyroid disease among the general population in the Al-Baha region. There is a need for targeted health education programs to improve public awareness of risk factors and early detection and prevention measures of thyroid diseases to improve the quality of life among community members.
