Psychological well-being and its relationship to counseling competence among educational counselors
The current research aims to identify the psychological well-being and counseling competence of educational counselors, and the nature of the correlation between these two variables. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted Carol Ryff’s psychological well-being scale (Ryff, 1989), and built a counseling competency scale. These standards were applied to a sample of (200) male and female counselors, and using appropriate statistical methods, the results showed the following: 1- Educational counselors enjoy psychological well-being. 2- Educational counselors have guidance competence. 3- There are no statistically significant differences in psychological well-being and counseling competence due to the gender variable (males - females). 4- There is a positive, direct correlation between psychological well-being and counseling competence among educational counselors.
