Activities of living: working and playing
There are many factors that influence the degree to which individuals choose to, or are expected to, engage in work and play activities. This article, tenth in the series, discusses why work and play, as activities of living, are important for one's health and wellbeing. It highlights the factors that may influence individual behaviour and choices within the activity and how individuals might be affected by a temporary or permanent inability to carry out the activity. Understanding these various factors can help the healthcare assistant (HCA) and assistant practitioner (AP) offer people care that is holistic and person centred.
